A very belated Happy Teachers' Day to our dear A03 teachers, including Mrs Fadzleen of course. Last Friday was a blast as we did nothing at all but enjoyed the performances. Basically it was fun cos there were no lessons lah :P. Anyway, here are some pictures i took of our great classmates.

YMCA CIP

We'll be doing street sales island wide. I've arranged for us to go to Orchard so we can shop shop around during long long long breaks HAHA

CLASS SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT

Greetings A03,

Hazique Here and I have some exciting news for my fellow classmates.

The Service-Learning Committee has been formed, consisting of Myself, Sheena and Yi Fang. We have come up with a proposal for the CIP that we are going to do and I am going to explain it briefly here.

We are embarking on a project called Project Flight. Project Flight is basically is a platform whereby we will learn the art, and science of Kiting (Kite-Flying).

As a class, we will attend 2 1/2 hours a kite-flying cultural enrichment and making course. From what we learn here, we will go to a children's home to pass on our knowledge. Tentatively, the home will be the Darul Ihsan Orphanage.

Aside from that, we will hold a half-day outing event in which we will bring the kids out to East Coast Park. There, we will let them design and make their kites, hold it as a competition in which the best kite wins. Later in the evening, we will fly the kites with them and possibly, hold a BBQ if you guys are in.

Money will be raised for this event through taxation from all of you, and also fund raising. We propose to collect $6 from each from each of you. Come on guys, I'm sure you're all generous enough to donate $6 for charity. For many, its less than one day's worth of allowance. Still, the money will not be enough. We will have to raise at least a $150 more. We will be selling around 300 lollipops to the school (at 50 cents/1 dollar) each.

Anyway, I'll give you guys the details when school reopens. RIGHT NOW, I NEED PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED IN JOINING TO SUBMIT THEIR NAMES TO ME. I NEED TO GIVE IT TO THE OFFICE.

Though this activity is not compulsory, IT IS HIGHLY VERY ENCOURAGED. The activity will be worth 15 HOURS for participants, enough for the whole year. IF you DO NOT PARTICIPATE, you will be at a GREAT LOSS AS NOTHING WILL BE REFLECTED ON YOUR TESTIMONIAL for CIP.

The committee wishes to see EVERYONE participating. Trust Us, IT WILL BE FUN & ENRICHING. We will do a presentation during CT Period on the CIP. But those who are not interested, please give me your names asap.

Hello fellow a03-ians.Its been a long time since this blog has been updated and I sure this blog is not dead.

So Midyears are over and maybe still ongoing for some people.So cut to the chase,since we havent been having class outing at all,I was thinking of making class holiday in the november-december holidays.

So please feel free and tag your opionions.It is possibly 3 days and two nights.

hey, spencer here.. well, i've come to realised that our class has somekind of a liking towards quarrels, arguments, disputes and exc, is it? why is it that once our last problem was finally solved after much drama, another shitty problem has shitting pop out again? Come on, how big are you guys already, cant u solve ur arguments like eunice and berhan?? cant u just like thrash it out then forget about it and dont hold petty grudges against each other? besides if u guys cant handle such MINOR problems, i cant imagine the rest of our lives in this class, and it sucks to be one of the bystanders watching this whole episode.. and moreover, if u guys have a problem, go settle it among urselves, dont let ur damn quarrels affect ur fellow classmates lives and so on. Isnt it very childish to like ... forget it.. i shant elaborate, u can hate me for this, or keep a shit grudge against me, i dont care, nor am i gonna stand in front of the class and apologise. My rationale for posting this post is very very simple, all i want is for our class to stop producing such childish arguments and behaviours, if u have a group work, do it, dont let other people do it for u, if u have problems doing work, settle it among urselves! hey, im no angel either but the very least i do is not to quarrel with my own mates.. Also, i cant see why u people are so easily emotional prone towards minor stuff, a quarrels a quarrel, fine, settle it and let bygones be bygones, are the both of u gonna be enemies for like that forever? im not saying u have to patch up straightaway but cant u guys at least see the folly of ur ways and stop it now and learn from it so that in the future, it wont happen? damn it man, ya just like primary schoolkids, the way things are being done at times, im also a primary school kid, im childish and im disruptive, therefore i do not deny and i accept it that this is my bad point.. i really really hope that the class can be like more like a class and not like a market? whereby people start argueing over the smallest of issues, nvm bout the quarreling, its the after effect thats worse.. watever u do, just settle it among urself and dont affect anybody in the class with ur stupid issues, ya and i use the words "Stupid" to emphasise what u guys are doing..

erm. hey guys, its me, spencer, your friendly neighbourhood spiderman and i would like to say a few things to end off this STUPID and NONSENSICAL showdown we had, (sounds like xiaolin showdown haha!:D) ok ok, lets get serious.

Though i was really pissed this afternoon, i decided to take a step back and look at the broader picture and i realised actually nobody did wrong, its just that one thing led to another and it kept increasing. BUT, im reallly glad all this is over! haha. I think this is a super redundant post but lets put this episode behind us alright?( sounds like star wars!) haha. ok ok, i know serious serious. From now on, we'll strive together to be 1 class alright, i promise i'll do my best to talk at the right time ( no guarantees though) alright? And next time in the future, which i hope not if anyone is unhappy with anything, im always available alright, you can consult me given my SUPERIOR BRAINS AND EXC. shant go into details. HAHA! :P but i mean seriously, i will lend a listening ear and i will try to solve the problem to the best of my abilities, ( cause shazwan sucks as a cm! haha jkjk)

Financial Issues.

hey all.

i would like to highlight some financial issues for your kind attention.

The following would be the issues:

(i) ive used the CLASS FUND for all the MATHS NOTES (chapter 7 & 8) that youve received
and also the class contact list.

(ii) currently, the standing amount left with me is approximately 10dollars.

(iii) the reason why i cant collect a large sum of money for all the notes is simply because we are
all taking different subject combinations. The only common subjects we are taking are
MATHS and GP. the GP notes are settled. however, my main concern is the subsequent
notes for maths as well as the maths file.

(iv) therefore please understand and assist me by providing an additional 5 dollars (for maths
NOTES ONLY). Cash collected would instantly be handed over to the Maths
Reps.

Class Unity

Hey there guys! I dunno whats been happening around the A03 world much despite being in the noisy bunch but I have something to say about class unity.

Class unity happens naturally. You can't force it, or point out the reason why it happens but it does. It takes time to develop a sense of belonging and acceptance in a new environment, especially since most of you guys have just been attending PJ for about a month. It takes time to learn how to tolerate other individuals, individuals who had a totally different lives from ourselves. Different past, different habits, different individuals. Its only been about a month! So take it easy man!! Perhaps in the future, we'll feel strong feelings towards each other.

Its cool to see many initiating class spirit in the class and i believe that for one month's worth of work, its results are amazing. Furthermore, I noticed a common point in the class during last week's discussion about class bonding.

We all laugh together at Spencer's jokes! Isn't this unity?! So lets make Spencer the class mascot!

Hi all

Im FULLY AWARE of the class dynamics and politics that seem to run in some hidden under currents now.
Face it: 1stly.
Is there anything wrong if the class really doesnt sit together during the breaks? And even if you do so, whats wrong with having other friends joining in really?? Isnt the pioneer JC spirit equally as important as the class spirit honestly?
Face it guys, you all are coming 17 this year, some maybe 18 years old. Im aware that all of you have very different personalities and characters. It s only the month of April and there have been countless clashes. Trust me, there will be more to come. And it will keep coming harder and stronger and more bonds MAYBE broken.
But ultimately, we all have one goal in mind: our future. Be it as a class or as an individual. We all need to see our own priorities and know what is really more important to us.

There will come a time when either one of us may fall and not be able to pick ourself up. That will come the time when we will know if the class is truly united. Sitting together as a class, spending time together during breaks s not going to prove anything at all. What is more important is what comes from within. All this takes time and time is something we all need to be patient with

I truly enjoy my time with A03 and i want to be the best teacher you can get and give my fullest. Please do realize that by going on this way will cause more heart pain to everybody. Go think about it for the weekend. Trust me, you all just need time to give and take. Dont expect things to be fine so quickly. But just realize that each and and everyone of us ARE TRYing to do our best.

well I'd just like to say that despite how the situation(s) may look really bad now,
I'm sure that if we all are willing to work together as a class to solve these issues then they will be resolved, its just a matter of time and compromise.

first of all, we're a class.
-A class meaning that 25individuals have been brought together to function as one group over a period of two years.
-25different people with different points of views, lifestyles, personalities, way of expressing themselves and different ways of dealing with things.
So for sure, there's going to be clashes. there's bound to be conflicts, or people who simply rub each other the wrong way.
but the fact is, we'll Be with each other for the rest of our times spent here in PJC.
So why not make it as enjoyable as possible while it lasts?

i believe everyone in our class is nice.
no one person is purposely mean, or is trying to be a bitch and stuff.
perhaps some are more insensitive, or ignorant to how their behavior may be affecting those around them. but my point is, No one sets out to aggravate or piss off/hurt/annoy another person. lets try to bear that in mind the next time someone offends us? and maybe tell the person straight on (after we've cooled down) about how what he/she did affects you guys.
so on the other hand, everyone try to be open to constructive criticism alright? and be more sensitive to one another's feelings.
I'm probably not aware of every single underlying tension between specific people but i hope that we all would try and make a combined effort to make 08a03work.

Regarding the situation about the front row being too noisy/disruptive/domineering/unresponsive to efforts made to be more united etc,
I agree and I'm sorry.
I'm sure by now all of us are aware of this and will make an effort. (Well take Friday for example. it wasn't much, but there was more mingling during our breaks and it's a small step but it was encouraging really.)
But change doesn't happen overnight. So i hope you guys understand that it's impossible for us to become more quiet, passive and less domineering all at once immediately and to give it some time. on our part we will be making efforts to tone down, and give the rest of the class a chance to speak up. (:

oh and i believe enough has been said about the swearing and all? so yes guys(you know who you are),
STOP.

i know quite a number of us has been down,
(regardless of whether its because of this class issue, schoolwork, personal grievances or life in general)
but well
SMILE
and find joy in the simplistic things in life. or just a friend to make you feel better, stuff your faces with ice cream or indulge in some stuff you enjoy doing.

Look out for one another too alright?
sure we all have the ones we're closer to in class but lets try and be there for one another cause yknow,
well be going through quite a lot together. so yup(:

I hope what I've said so far makes sense and all.
and i honestly believe there's been a slight improvement and its possible for us to get along.
One person can only make so much of a differences but all of us can make so much more.

To settle the problem

Perhaps we should start by solving the problem between the girls first? It's really kind of tough when we've to start off with Class Unity when there are already internal conflicts in the first place. It makes me unhappy to be stuck in the middle out of nowhere. Really. And when I'm like quiet during lessons and everything, it doesn't mean that I'm unhappy with the class or I prefer living in my own world instead alright. I just can't find the right things to say, the right time to speak.

It will be around 2 years that we'll have to be together as a class and that for worse or for better, we'll have to stick to each other. So why not make it better and not worse? :)

The Bright Side Of Life

To my dear class 08A03,

As a class, this week is arguably one of the tougher weeks we've spent together...so far. Many of us, are starting to feeling the pressure and the pinch of life. Its been tough on some, tougher on others. Homeworks are piling, teachers are beginning to speed up in their teaching and tests are an all-too-common affair.

We all make mistakes.It may be due to our own blunder or sometimes life is simply unfair. Nevertheless, our time as Pioneers is very short - in the blink of an eye, this journey would be over. In this very short period of time, let us all make the best of it; make it memorable, make it fun, make it nice. We all have to stick together as one class united moving on together.

Of course, there are the moments like now for example when everything seem to be against us. Despite all the recent unfavorable events, I urge all to be positive, to look on the bright side. Behind every setback there are indeed learning points, and with every learning points are the methods we can improve ourselves.

Thomas Carlyle once said, "The block of granite, which is an obstacle in the pathway of the weak, becomes a stepping stone in the pathway of the strong" Mr Carlyle was a essayist and satirist.

This video is an all time classic we remember from our secondary school days should serve to remind us of what is the brighter side.

Hello people. I'm here to tell you guys something.

You all know right, we just got back our PW results. And some of us did badly, so please, don't rub it in okay? Just be sensitive.

Anyway, that's not the whole point of the matter. The issue I want to bring across to you guys is that, PW is really really a huge part of your J1 life. Trust me, cos we have all been through it. If you think PI's bad, then please be mentally prepared for the rest of the year. Everything else is like 10 times worse. I'm not trying to scare you here, just preparing you mentally. HAHA. So you guys got your groups already right? Okay, I'm telling you all - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR GROUP. You have no idea what it feels like to be the only one doing all the work. Seriously, if there are things to be done as a group, don't let one person do the job. It'll be hell for him/her. Trust me, I've been there, done that. And obviously it has affected my studies. No, i'm not using that as an excuse though.

If you don't want to see your classmates cry because of the stress, or even contemplate suicide because of bloody projects, just do your work and do it as a team. Believe me, some of you will cry, and some of you will want to die. If you ever have any of these problems, we senior J1s will be there to help. Feel free to msg or call us if you need someone for advice or someone to complain to. But we won't help you do your work, because we have done ours, and yours is yours to do. Okay? And everything I state here is real and I've experienced it, so be serious about your project work.

Im gonna be campaigning in a few days and what will follow is voting and then results blah blah.
Honestly, thinking about the council drives me nuts and i dont know if my guts will abandon me on thursday- which is when i will be standing on some platform in the canteen selling myself for votes while wearing a "gorgeous" red sash!

Call me lame for posting on the forum, but I have started a thread there! haha...

It's a proposal to the school that it considers starting a shuttle service form CCK MRT to PJC. The simple reason is that our college has very limited accessibility. I see a lot of people who live far and have to waste time travelling the final stretch from CCK MRT station to PJC. This would help all of us a lot.

I hope u guys are able to read, give comments and back me up for this!

It was only a short distance and bimbos and himbos were already complaining and whining that its like damn far.Hahahaha!Just for the record it was just like 500meters.A smart ass(should be me ar) brought them through the long way.Haha!
